The One

By Mac Guerreiro

It’s finally settled into me,

Part of my being,

Is feeling,

Not just in the safety of myself,

Though some feelings are solely felt in that realm,

But also allowing the feelings to show,

The impact of that is one eye may never know,

But eye feel that it’s necessary,

To be the one who’s willing to feel fully,

Even when people may see,

Then especially,

That’s my gift,

The inability to hide my heart,

This “curse” that’s been with me from the start,

The thing that eye perceived to make others run away,

Is also the thing that can encourage the right ones to stay,

And it’s opening me up more and more every day,

It’s overwhelming,

Hard to take full responsibility when eye’m terrified of really feeling,

But eye have to go there,

The journey is a solo one,

But they will all be there when Eye’m done,

My loved ones,

The ones whom never wished for me to shut down my heart,

But rather encouraged its opening,

Seeing how it’s a crucial part of my being,

It took me so long to see through their eyes,

And sometimes Eye’m still so blind,

But Eye’m starting to see,

How feeling fully,

Is a foundational part of being me.
