Already

By Mac Guerreiro dedicated to Caitlyn, the best roommate turned best friend eye didn’t know eye needed.

Eye miss it already,

Our energy,

The laughs,

The tears,

Everything in between,

You mean so much to me,

Friends are so hard to come by,

The ones that stay for life,

The ones you hope will remain,

You are that for me all the way,

During a period of great transformation,

We found each other,

When we would need support the most,

We grew close,

And the thought of separation sets my tears on high,

We were meant to meet in this life,

You helped me work through so much strife,

Always offering a hug,

An ear,

Wise words,

Sometimes all of the above,

You were there when eye needed someone most,

It’s an honor to know that eye too have helped you,

It’s truly the least eye can do,

And as the days tick away,

So few of them now,

Eye wonder how eye’ll make it without you,

Without our daily talks,

Our short walks,

Down to the grocery store,

We came to share many trips and so much more,

This hurts so much because eye know eye won’t let you go,

Eye’m here forever just so you know,

FaceTime is our friend and eye trust that we’ll put it to use,

Because a friendship like yours is one eye could never refuse,

Eye’m so excited to see you grow and figure yourself out,

In spite of this heaviness in my chest of that eye have no doubt,

And life will bring us together time and time again,

The first goodbye is just always the hardest,

Especially between soul friends.
