Eye was once a little girl with big dreams of becoming a ballerina. Visualizations of putting on my own pointe shoes used to run across my mind all day long and from the age of 3 till about 9 years old that dream was as real for me as anything else could be. Sometime in 2003 eye realized that was no longer my dream. Eye’d moved to the US and the fear of beginning all over again mixed with the desire to do new things with this new life were enough to persuade me. Sitting here during intermission of Mariinsky Ballet’s rendition of George Balanchine’s “Jewels” Eye’m reminded of the awe my child self had for these goddesses and gods of the stage.
Experiencing what feels like a never-ending dark night of the soul eye wonder when eye’ll find something that ignites passion like dancing and acting used to within me. Eye hope soon.
